Putative “religion and ethics” class first semester freshman year at a public university.It was a cheat because it wasn’t religion we were taught, it was theology. Prof was a Lutheran minister. Total fucking bullshit. He’d grade based on theology nothing else and he’d bully undergrads who disagreed all day in his German accent. It was sps and fucked up my gpa first semester. He was a huge asshole, total douchebag. He harassed all the Indians until they withdrew from the class. He’d harass the evangelicals too.

And he’d never give As because he only wanted top students and thought that having a rep as a dick would get him there.I fucking gave him something good he then brought up in a conference and that fucker still gave me a B because he knew I wouldn’t do shit and he could keep his rep as “the toughest prof.” In retrospect I should have told him to his face the class wasn’t a fucking bible study and he had the church across the street for that.

Anatomy and physiology. I was a math major who took measure theory and a couple other graduate seminars as an undergraduate and still graduated with a 3.99. Anatomy and physiology was the only class I had to take pass/fail as an undergraduate. I get that it was a premed weeder class, but this guy made it completely insane. We had to memorize every bone in the body and then the name, origin, insertion, and action for over 200 muscles. And that was just one chapter. It was just an exercise in rote memorization, but the amount of memorization required was totally absurd. I finally said fuck it and took the class pass/fail. It wasn't worth studying 30+ hours per week for one class that wasn't even required for my major.
